Canaan Sustainability Stance

Canaan’s sustainability framework is derived from our culture and philosophy as a family business that is part and parcel of its ecosystem, sustaining small-scale farmers livelihoods and farm viability while in full harmony with the environment in ways that protect the soil and preserve local culture.

Our commitment to sustainability starts with the soil, our producer communities, all the way to our customers and global partners.  Our ultimate objective is preserve our ancient permaculture and achieve a shift in modern agriculture towards a more sustainable food producing and processing ecosystem.


Organic practices are in the core of Canaan’s culture and philosophy. Canaan translated these beliefs into practices by following multiple organic certifications requirements, including USDA, European, Naturland, and Japanese organic requirements.


Canaan network of olive trees along with farming practices used such as cover-cropping, reduction in tillage, and composting neutralize the CO2 produced by 71,400 humans.


Canaan is sequestering 13.5 kg of Carbon for every 1 kg of Olive Oil produced and distributed.
